AJD Regeneration is working with the Godiva Lions in Coventry to celebrate the contribution of immigrants from the Indian sub-continent to Coventry life. ‘Pind’ means ‘village’ in Punjabi. We are awaiting the outcome of a Heritage Lottery bid for this project that aims to pass on traditional craft, cooking, dance and music skills to young people. If approved, the project will run inter-generational workshops with Asian eleers and 13-21 year-olds, culminating in an outdoor community event in June 2018 to re-create traditional Indian village life and establish a web resource.
